The veneration, appreciation and awe of Nature, as well as respect for her, are aspects of the wisdom of ancient peoples that we should rediscover in modern times.
In his pursuit of a comfortable and affluent lifestyle, modern man has lost sight of the fact that he is but a minor element of the ecosystem.
My installations have attempted to explore the extent to which human beings co-exist with the natural environment, and thus reflect a deep-rooted notion of animism. My memories of place and time, the experience that I have acquired through fieldwork and the specificities of materials also integrate themselves into my works. The latter aim to reflect Nature’s power and vitality, as well as the transient nature of human existence. My wish is to express the meaning of life, in its truest sense, and to point the way to restoring mankind’s relationship with Nature.
